Lazy Day Ziti

Here’s a quick and delicious recipe for Lazy Day Ziti—perfect for when you want something comforting but easy to make!

Lazy Day Ziti

Serves: 4-6

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

1 pound ziti pasta (or any short pasta like penne)

2 cups marinara or your favorite pasta sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional: Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions:

1. Cook the Pasta:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook ziti in salted boiling water according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2. Mix the Filling:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella, ¼ cup of Parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

3. Assemble the Dish:

In a 9x13-inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom. Add half the cooked pasta, then spoon dollops of the ricotta mixture evenly over it. Pour half of the remaining marinara sauce on top, then repeat with the remaining pasta and sauce.

4. Top it Off:

Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top.

5. Bake:

Cover the dish loosely with foil (to prevent the cheese from sticking) and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

6. Serve:

Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired, and enjoy with a side of garlic bread or salad!

Tips:

Add Protein: Stir in cooked ground beef, sausage, or shredded chicken for a heartier dish.

Vegetarian Twist: Add sautéed veggies like spinach, zucchini, or mushrooms.

Make It Ahead: Assemble the dish, cover it tightly, and ref

rigerate for up to 24 hours before baking.

Enjoy your Lazy Day Ziti!
