Ingredients
For the Cake:
3 cups (13½ oz) all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 cup buttermilk (or fermented milk)
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 large eggs
For the Butter Sauce:
¾ cup granulated sugar
⅓ cup unsalted butter
3 tablespoons water
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
---
Instructions
1. Preheat & Prepare Pan
Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).
Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan, ensuring every crevice is coated to prevent sticking.
2. Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together:
Flour
Sugar
Salt
Baking powder
Baking soda
3. Add Wet Ingredients
Add softened butter, buttermilk, and vanilla to the dry ingredients.
Beat with a mixer on medium speed for 2–3 minutes until the batter is smooth.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
4. Bake the Cake
Pour batter evenly into the prepared bundt pan.
Bake for 60–70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, but do not invert yet.
5. Make the Butter Sauce
In a small saucepan, combine:
Sugar
Butter
Water
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the butter melts and sugar dissolves.
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.
6. Soak the Cake
While the cake is still in the pan and warm, poke holes all over using a skewer or toothpick.
Slowly pour the warm butter sauce over the cake, allowing it to soak in.
Let the cake sit in the pan for 30–60 minutes to absorb the sauce.
7. Invert and Cool
Invert the cake onto a serving plate or cake stand.
Let cool completely before serving.

Optional: Add Salted Caramel Drizzle
To enhance the "salted caramel" vibe, drizzle with store-bought or homemade salted caramel sauce just before serving and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
