---

Instructions

1. Prepare the Chocolate Cake

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 9-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.

2. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. Add buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

4. Gradually stir in the boiling water. The batter will be thin, but this ensures a moist cake.

5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.

6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

7. Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

2. Make the Creamy Filling

1. Whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar in a large bowl until stiff peaks form.

2. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese and vanilla until smooth.

3. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture. Refrigerate until ready to use.

3. Prepare the Chocolate Ganache

1. Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer (do not boil).

2. Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes.

3. Stir until smooth. If desired, add butter for extra shine. Allow to cool slightly for thicker consistency.

4. Optional Frosting

1. Beat softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, beating until fluffy.

2. Mix in vanilla and melted white chocolate. Adjust consistency with heavy cream.

5. Assemble the Cake

1. Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread the creamy filling evenly over the top.

2. Add the second cake layer and gently press to secure.

3. Pour the ganache over the cake, letting it drip down the sides for a smooth finish.

4. (Optional) Spread or pipe the frosting decoratively on top.
