2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
1 cup milk
2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper (optional)
Fresh herbs like parsley or chives (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
3. Add wet ingredients: Add the melted butter and milk to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined.
4. Add cheese: Fold in 1 1/2 cups of the shredded cheese and any optional seasonings like garlic powder and pepper.
5. Pour into pan: Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top.
6. Top with cheese: Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheese on top of the batter.
7. Bake: Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
8. Cool and serve: Let the bread cool for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Optionally, garnish with fresh herbs.
Enjoy your cheesy bread as a snack or a side dish!
